Admissions

Children who reach their fifth birthday during the academic year: 1 September to 31 August will be admitted to full time education at the beginning of the autumn term.

If these arrangements are considered inappropriate for individual needs, parents may discuss the provision with the Headteacher.

Norfolk Children’s Services co-ordinate first admissions to school and parents should register their children as soon as possible, but no firm offer of a place will be made until the Summer Term. When over subscribed, preference is given to children within the designated catchment area. Children from outside the catchment area are always very welcome, subject to places being available, however, parents must take responsibility for transport.

In line with Norfolk County Council’s admissions policy for County and Controlled, First, Middle, Junior and Primary Schools the following criteria will apply:-

When over-subscribed, preference is given to children living nearer to the school according to the following criteria, in order of priority.

  • Children who hold, or are about to hold, a statement of Special Educational Needs.
  • Those living in the designated area served by the school who will have an older brother or sister attending at the time of admission.
  • Those living in the designated area served by the school with no sibling connection.
  • Those living outside the designated area served by the school who will have an older brother or sister attending at the time of admission.
  • Those living outside the designated area served by the school with no sibling connection.
